The Breadbarn Church was established by God and came as a result of a dream Pastor Wendy Huber had in January of 2008. The morning after the dream we received confirmation from a friend God had spoken to about Wendy and I establishing a church for the Glory of God. The Name Breadbarn was written on the building she saw in her dream, and was adopted as the name for the Ministry.
The Breadbarn Church is not church as usual. God has told us that we were to establish an environment of worship, unity, and love where believers could gather and have fellowship the way God had intended it to be.
If you read the Book of Acts you will find that the believers had all things in common. They were in simple fellowship with God and with other like minded believers and shared all things.
We give great place in our church to a fellowship dinner. The Christians who gather here will tell you it is an awesome time. They eat together, they fellowship together. Jesus gave a great place to eating with people and enjoying fellowship with all kinds of people. In the same way, we believe it is a great way for people to get to know each other in simple fellowship. Everyone brings a portion, and we all share together.
In the Breadbarn Church you will find that after dinner, we enter into praise and worship and linger long in the presence and Glory of the Lord. It is said that God inhabits the praises of His people. Ruth Heflin used to say first you praise, then worship, then stand in the glory of God. As we praise and worship the Lord, we enter into His presence, minister to Him, and He ministers to us. There is always a strong presence of the Lord in our meetings, and God prepares our hearts in worship to receive healing through communion.
When we have worshipped long we take communion together. There is healing in communion, there is a tremendous unity in the Spirit through communion. It is the Lord’s wish in scripture that we receive communion in remembrance of Him, so every time we gather together we receive together.
We give a great place to the Word of God in the Breadbarn. The teaching of the Word incorporates practical application of scripture to our lives that we may continue to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” And 2 Timothy 3:16-17 Declares, “all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. “ As we teach through the scriptures, we come into a fuller knowledge of the Lord, of each other, and of our permanent home, heaven.
We pray for all of the believers in each meeting and allow for God given gifts to be exercised in faith in accordance with Paul’s writings in 1 Corinthians 12-14. There is freedom here and every believer is encouraged to discover through the word of God, prayer and fellowship which gifts they have been given by God. We allow freedom for everyone to grow in their gifting, and we believe God wants every member of the body to function as a God has given them each a place within the body of Christ. We encourage prophecy when we are in prayer proportionate to the faith a person possesses. Through the prayer times we are all edified, built up, and blessed by the Lord. Many people receive healing and deliverance through these times of prayer.
We meet every Saturday evening except the 4th Saturday of the month, and our meetings can run into the early hours of the morning. If you are hungry for God and looking for more than church as usual, and desire to experience the strong presence of the Lord, while enjoying great food, fellowship, praise, worship, communion, and prayer, than we encourage you to visit us. Our meeting starts at 6:00pm. You will find our contact information and directions on this site. All our welcome!
We also have a weekly ministry in the Word called “Wheat from the Barn.” If you would like to receive this teaching, simply contact us with your e-mail address and we will be happy to forward it to you.
May God richly bless you as you continue to walk in fellowship with Him!
